NORTHBOROUGH – A gunshot inside a Northborough Walmart drew police to that location, Nov. 15.
There, police said, a woman told them that her handgun has misfired while she was “digging in her purse.”
The incident took place around 8:30 p.m on Nov. 15.
Nobody was injured.
The woman, a 31-year old Worcester resident, voluntarily surrendered the weapon, ammunition, her purse and her license to carry to police.
She would be charged with discharging a firearm within 500 feet of an occupied building.
Police said that “the appropriate state agency” had been notified for “review and possible revocation” of the woman’s license to carry.
Police added that the state was also notified of the incident due to the fact that the woman had a toddler child with her.
