NORTHBOROUGH – The Melican Middle School music department defied the frigid temperatures on Thursday to keep up a holiday tradition of performing a musical “send off” for students before the winter break from classes.
The music department gathered outside the school entrance to play a mini holiday concert as students were released from school at the end of the day.
According to Guidance Counselor Julie Morancy, the musical send-off has been a tradition at Melican for over 30 years. The smiles and cheers from the students resonated with music staff members Dave Daquil, Averi Parece and Kate Getchell, this week, making the cold temperatures bearable.
