Northborough – Jean F. Farricy, a longtime resident of Northborough, passed away unexpectedly and peacefully at home in the early hours of February 3, 2022; she was 74 years old. Jean was the beloved wife of 52 years to Dr. John P. Farricy, III.
Born in Boston and raised in Brighton, Jean was one of four children to the late Ralph E. and Helen M. (Flanagan) Holmes.
She was a graduate of Saint Columbkille’s in Brighton, MA and went on to receive her nursing degree at Framingham Union Hospital’s School of Nursing. She then went on to work as a floor nurse for years before taking some time off to raise her family.
Jean spent many years working with the love of her life and best friend, Jack, in their private practice in Obstetrics and Gynecology in Worcester, MA.
She had many interests in life including travel, reading, baking, Boston College tailgates and of course, getting her nails done.
There was nothing Jean enjoyed more than spending time with her family and her beloved seven grandchildren. Grammy will be sorely missed at the many family gatherings, dinners and vacations and her favorite holiday – St. Patrick’s Day. Her party planning skills were second to none.
She will be sorely missed by not only her loving family but also her many friends and patients. Jean had a natural ability to touch many hearts with her loving personality and quick wit. Her happiest times were spent at the Nauset beach in Cape Cod with her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband John, Jean is survived by her three children, Jill T. Farricy Coran of Shrewsbury, John P. Farricy, IV of Westborough and Julie M. Farricy King of Sturbridge; seven grandchildren, Lucy, Cameron, and Dylan Coran, Grace and Jack Farricy, Holly and Jonah King, all whom she loved dearly. Jean also leaves her siblings, Karen DeNaples and Ralph E. Holmes, Jr., both whom live in Winthrop. Jean was preceded in death by her sister Mary Ellen Holmes, with whom she is now undoubtedly reunited.
Due to the rising concern of Covid in our local area, Jean will be laid to rest in Howard Street Cemetery, Northborough, after a private ceremony. A celebration of Jean’s life will be scheduled later in the spring.
