REGION – The spring sports season rumbled onward last week, with teams playing through their April vacation schedules.
Hudson was a hub for softball and baseball action, with Hudson softball and Shrewsbury baseball winning the Sheryl Jones and John Ahern tournaments there respectively.
Algonquin and Shrewsbury track teams met for a pair of competitions, with Algonquin taking the win in the girls meet and Shrewsbury emerging victorious from the boys meet.
Elsewhere, Westborough baseball edged out a narrow victory over Leominster while a handful of area lacrosse teams snagged big wins.

Tighe Clark helped drive the Titans past the rams offensively, notching a pair of RBIs. The win was Algonquin’s second victory this spring, capping a relatively successful week for the Titans after an 0-4 start to the season.
