

NORTHBOROUGH – The Algonquin girls tennis team marched to a playoff win on Friday, defeating Beverly by a score of 4-1 in the preliminary round of this year’s MIAA Division I state championship.
Ranked 32nd overall entering the game, the Titans held off the 33rd ranked Beverly squad to punch a ticket to the Round of 32.
Algonquin will now be back in action on Monday against top-ranked Lincoln-Sudbury.
That match is set for 4 p.m. at Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School.
