NORTHBOROUGH/HUDSON – The Hudson Post 100 American Legion Baseball team defeated Northborough on Thursday, securing a narrow 2-1 victory on the road and continuing a strong start to the still young 2022 season.
Jason Jakobsons led the way for Hudson, pitching a complete game two-hitter while racking up three hits at the plate.
Brady Stuart snagged two hits of his own in the winning effort.
Northborough initially led in this game, breaking a 0-0 tie only to see Hudson claw its way back.
Stuart drove in the tying run for his squad before Jakobsons helped build a one-run advantage with the go-ahead RBI.
The win for Hudson this week came less than 24 hours after a marathon, 14-inning affair against Milford on Wednesday.
Jackson Sequenzia finally ended that game with a walk-off RBI single.
The recent wins now have Hudson sitting in third place in the Zone Four division, trailing only Shrewsbury and Northbridge in season win-loss records as of Friday morning.
Northborough is in 10th place in the division.
Hudson was due back in action against Main South for a 7 p.m. start on Friday as of publication.
That game is set to take place at Tivnan Field in Worcester.
Northborough was set to host North County back at home at 5:30 p.m. on Friday as of publication.
