REGION – The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the area until 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
The forecast calls for 3 to 5 inches of snow, possibly mixing with rain, sleet and freezing rain, before it ends in the early evening.
Several schools have either canceled classes or afternoon programs. St. John’s High School has canceled school, and Advanced Math and Science Academy will have an early dismissal at 12:18 p.m.
The remainder of the week will be mostly dry and cold, with highs below 30 degrees. The next chance for snow will be Friday into Saturday.
