Northborough – Families who have participated in the Northborough Public Schools Extended Day Program (EDP) recently gathered for a 25th anniversary celebration at Ellsworth McAfee Park.
Lois Kirk, the co-executive director of program, said invites were extended to everyone who had ever attended the program over the past 25 years.
“We are very proud of the work we do. Our staff is awesome,” she said. “We thought this would be a fun way to not only celebrate this milestone but also get everyone together again.”
She noted that each year, nearly 300 students from the town’s four elementary schools attend the

program at least one day a week.

“Some of the adults in the program actually attended the EDP when they were younger, she added.
“They had such a good time, they wanted to come back and help other kids!” she said.
