Shrewsbury – The Residence at Orchard Grove recently commemorated Memorial Day with a special event held at its Shrewsbury location. Also collaborating on the event was Beacon Hospice and Justin Sousa, the director of the Central Mass. Veterans’ Services District. Veterans residing at the facility were presented with a Certificate of Appreciation and pin from the American Legion.

The Veterans Preservation Project, founded by Noah Kreatz, had its travelling museum on site. Guests at the event enjoyed viewing the restored uniforms and other memorabilia on display.

Among the honored veterans was Albert Rogers, 95, who served as an Army Flyer in WWII for three and a half years in China. Mr. Rogers lives at the facility with his wife, Adelaide, 97. Mr. Rogers owned the White Cliffs property in Northborough from 1949-1953.
